hey, i just wanna know if it is really worth swapping my stock 6inch's (ALL ROUND) with new ones?

I have a 95 Ford Futura, i have a new sony deck which i got a great deal on!
The stock speakers do alrite for the moment, but i have the cash to change the speakers, so all i want to know, is would it be worth it?

Thanks

It depends on what your plans are. In the future will you be installing amps and sub? If not i wouldnt bother with the 200 watt speakers. Just get some nice splits or coaxials for the front and for the rear dont bother with the splits just go with 6" coaxials and if you want some extra bass install 6x9's in the rear but dont cut holes, instead use spacers. If you are going with subs and amps later dont worry at all about the rears, stick with changing the fronts to some nice splits and use the factory rears just for a fill.

depends on how much you want to spend, the ultimate set of splits would be dynaudio 3 ways at a nice price of a shade over 1g :P but a more reasonable approach would be focal polyglass, i have these and they are a very nice sounding system, if you have the funds how ever by all means search for something else, the morels go down well from specialists but at around 800 they are also pricey but sound good for the buck. alpine type r are nice and almost the same as type s where as the type s is more budget orientated. All this depends on how deep ur pockets go. as for rear fill, if your amping, stick with stock or change to a better 6" coaxial. if not get a nice 6" dont go 6x9 they are horrible and a nice set of 6" speakers will always out perform a 6x9. just my 2c :P

The alpine range are 6.5 inch tho so depending on the model u select some small mods to the doors need to be made....only small mods tho.

The SPS-171A - Type - S 6-1/2" Component 2 way speaker set at $299 - 50w RMS/ 250w Peak and have a response 35hz-30khz.

Moving up to the Type R range the SPR-17LS 6.5" 2 way component pack costs $349 - 70w RMS / 350w Peak - 35hz - 35khz

Going higher to type x / flagship series F1 status it will go up to $599,$699 and $1299

No the Sound stream XSC.6s are round the $220rrp. 150w peak so be round 40-50wRMS.

Moving up to the Tranatulas you'll have to pay round the $499 mark.

and finally $899 for the RF-60c reference model.

Remeber paying higher for speakers youre not necessarilly ... gonna be gaining volume..most as u go up the range actually reduce in power output but are far more sensitive and clarity is greaty improved.
