Im about to do an instal in my sisters Excel. I went to Newcastle Pro Sound and this is the package they put together for us:

* Clarion APX4240 400W 4 Chanel Amp
* Clarion APX 1300 400W Monoblock Amp
* 2 x Boxed Clarion PXW1252 12" Subs
* 2 x Clarion SRS 1686 6 1/4" Compont Speakers <-- Front & Rear Stage
* Pioneer DEH P5850MP Head Unit

Total Cost is $1500 Fully INSTALLED (All required Cabling Included)

This seems like an awesome deal to me. The RRP of this entire system was $2633 According to the Clarion (& Pioneer) Website. I went to Srathfield and they were going to charge 600+ Bucks for the installation alone. (and that was for a similar SONY System, but with only 1 sub

Just woundering, what are Clarion like as a brand? (i.e their Reputation) Ju8st wanted to get a few peoples opinions. I used to think that SONY was a reputable brand in car audio untill i started reading these forums.

I'm thinking of getting the same system in my Mustang, which is why i ask.

Any Help Much Appreciated. Cheers

Clarion are pretty good i used to hav some of their gear....

be careful going to pro sound i know of 2 ppl who hav had copies made of thier keys while gettin work done there.

an always check wot they r goin to put in is new. i checked a cheap clarion sub i was gonna buy from there and it had already had wires that had been solderd onto it an then cut off later..

u can get sum good deals from there if u know wot ur lookin for and go at the right time of year

How Do u Know they had copies of their keys made for a fact? I highly doubt this to be true. For starters they dont have Key Cutting Facilities there, so they would have to go somewhere that does, and there isnt anywhere close that cuts keys.

Are we talking About the same place? Newcastle Pro Sound in Jesmond?

Besides if this were true im quite sure legal action would have been taken and they would have been shut down by now....

my mates cousin has told me to becarful of a guy that works or used to work there..havent spoken to him 4 a while though....
from wot he said it not company policy or anything of that sort to get ppl's keys copied. Just someone that works there. and they just couldnt keep their mouth shut...
my mates cousin said the 2 keys that he knows of that were copied were both pretty done up fully sick skylines..
he dosent know if the copied keys were to steal the gear they bought from pro sound or to steal the whole car..
obviously they must hav been buying some pretty expesive gear

this guy may not even work there anymore

but since i herd bout it iv just always been more carful when i go there.

so not really anything to do wiv newcastle pro sound its self just some guy being a tool

I got a full clarion system in my car, goes pretty good considering i'm not heavily into doof doof stuff, got it from newcastle pro sound for like $800, thats subs, box, wiring, head unit, front and rear speakers, and instalation was $90 or something cant remember the exact prices, but this was an end of financial year sale. system was over half price.
