A 68uf cap will provide a 6db crossover from about 620htz. It will be 6db down at 310htz…

That seems a little high I would be looking at something like a 250uf which provide a crossover point around 160htz with 6db down at 80htz and 12db down at 40htz which will protect these smaller speakers from the low frequency’s

i run the pioneer cevlar 4" they are real good check them out at the same time

It doesn't matter weather capacitor is on positive or negative side since the signal is AC and the capacitor is non-polarised.

a 250uF cap will let thru a more bass hence more distortion. Besides, isn't your sub and larger rear speakers meant to handle the bass? if your running your 4" of the head deck then 250uF will be fine, however a 220uF costs $8.95, and probably is a bit worse for your speaker, especially if there is an amp on your 4" and u like to crank it.

Hey guys i went for the 4" Response 35wrms front door speakers and also add the 220uf Caps really happy with the sound, awesome tone and no distortion. Next is to replace my rears...Panasonic 6x9's (45 wrms or somthing)..im thinkin of 8" Woofers.....mmmmm*drools*
