Just curious to know. Also, is it possible to have the premium system retrofitted?

in all honesty to get it retro fitted would cost more than getting a decent aftermarket system and installing it yourself. i ripped my premium sound out of my fairmont ghia and threw it in the bin :lol:
i spent no more than $300 On my system and it sounds better.

but if you want to keep it standard probably best to retro fit.

Edit: this is FG premium sound
The premium audio system has a 262-watt total power output and consists of:

* AM/FM radio
* Six-disc, in-dash CD/MP3 player
* Eight speakers
* 150-watt amplifier and sub-woofer
* Seven-inch colour TFT display screen for the Interior Command Centre (ICC)
* Graphic equaliser

ive got premo sound in my fg. basically you get a sub on the parcel shelf with an amp to run it in the boot, splits up front as opposed to just 6 inch speakers, six stack in the dash, and a colour screen. (dont know if these are possible with low level stereos, but i also have a colour reverse camera, and dual climate control) otherwise pretty much the same diffrences as was with ba/bf standard and premo sound. any paticular reason you want to upgrade? to get a premium fg icc unit expect to pay a fortune. if you want the same sort of speakers, i have a parcel shelf sub in the shed, and im in the process of changing my stock speakers over. wouldnt be too hard to get a factory amp for the sub, they pop up on ebay a fair bit.

That explains why my 6-stacker doesn't work... I don't have one! It's odd that there is a "Load" button and a disc number display for a single disc system, I suppose they're just catering to those with the premium system. If it's going to be outrageously expensive, I won't bother upgrading. I realise it's not the best, but the standard one is satisfactory for my needs.

Thanks guys. :)

if you have a load button it more than likely is a 6 stack. what do you mean when you say it doesnt work?

Well it won't let me put in more than one disc. I find it odd that I'd have the six-stacker but not the rest of the premium system (it was ex demo, owned by the manager). I'm getting it serviced at the beginning of the month, so I'll find out then I guess.

you have to press load and follow the prompts on the screen to load a disc, not just chuck it in.

even though you have the Load button doesnt mean you have a 6 stacker. All models whether it be the premium icc or standard icc with single stacker have the load button. I think this was an error on Fords part.

Cheers
