G'day, I am going to soon install door handle lights and use the the technical document to help me! However I am unsure where to hook up the lights, as I own a GLi and I want them to turn on with the roof dome light. What is the easiest way to make this possible?
Cheers, Zane

Wire them into the light just above the ignition on the steering column, Or if your car has footwell courtesy lights/rear console light then you can wire them into those.

I have neither of those, as my car is only the base model GLi.

Ahhh, That presents a bit of a problem then. Perhaps there might be some wires you could tap into to achieve the desired results, But you'd need to study the wiring diagrams in the back of a workshop manual carefully...Other than that I'm all out of ideas.

Have a read of this tech doc in particular the 'Adding footwell lights' section. It will show you where to pick up the interior lighting circuit in a GLi. Also the footwell and rear courtesy lights are a worthwhile addition in their own right.

I read that tech doc but I don't understand where I am supposed to connect the wires up to, can someone please clarify for me? Cheers.

WARNING : If you have a GLi model, then you will notice that there is no Ignition Keylight Illumination.
This will mean that the Wire for the Centre Console lamp will need to be run from the Centre Console Connector, located underneath the Radio, behind the Cigarette Lighter.
This connector has 8 Pins, with only a couple pins used for wiring purposes.

The Wire colours required are ,
Black/Blue (Switched to Ground by the BEM to turn the Lamps on)
Green/Yellow (Connected to the 10Amp Interior Illumination Fuse)
These are located on the second column of the connector, just above and below one another
did you find this connector?

Yeah I read that but I didn't understand it very well, I wasn't sure what it was telling me to do, but I went ahead and spliced into the wires anyway and got the job done, thankyou.

Another place you could try is the rear pillar in a sedan unsure if it was the left or right and its a little far but that is where the wires go to the roof light
