i seem to have a problem with my door locks, i think.
in the last few days when i lock my doors with the remote, sometimes the car beeps as if one of the doors is ajar. when i check they are closed but not locked. once the horn beeped AND the door's still locked. 90% of the time it works fine. Does anyone know why this is doing this ?

what car is it. i found with mine being a month i have this problem of a night time, if i am to hasty getting out of the car before the light inside goes out the beeping starts, but if i wait a few seconds for it to go it its ok, also have a look at your boot also if its a little off it will do the same.

Now they have started "cycling" sometimes when i lock it.
is this one of the actuators, if so , is there a way of telling which one it is. so i can change it.

If it is cycling or the horn sounds it has to either have a door ajar or faulty master actuators, masters are only on the front doors and wagon tailgate, back doors actuators have no affect on anything. Working out which one is faulty can be fun, Ford revised the actuators mores times than I have fingers and toes, they also devised a procedure when replacing the actuators (it didn't work either , I used to do at least 16 a week at one stage). Save money and check out this doco. http://www.fordmods.com/forums/documents.php?doc=74

Mine should only have 1 master as it only has a door lock on the drivers door wouldn't that be right?

Another option is to pull apart the actuators and the little electric motors in them. Clean up the comutators in the motor very lightly (copper part that the brushes run on) with very fine sandpaper until they are shiny and re-assemble.
If you use a multimeter to test resistance in the motor, you'll find it will be about half what it was before you started. I mucked around for months with adjusting the actuators and replacing them. This was the cheapest way to fix them and the only one that worked for me. You could try just doing the 'suspect' one/s, but I'd suggest biting the bullet and doing them all at the same time. It will take a good day to do this. (The cycling problem gets worse as the weather warms up and the resistance increases.)

Yep and plus the expansion of everything else doesn't help the matter, incorrectly refitted door button often doesn't show up until the weather warms up as well.
