hey everyone!

ive decided to get of my a** and start installing my new gear i brought about a year ago now thats been sitting in my room! hehehe

so my list includes
pionner AVH-7650 dvd (already installed)
odyessy battery (alredy installed)
2 x sets of mbquart pce216 splits (front and rear)
Jl 300.4 4 channel amp
JL 1000.1 mono amp
JL 13w7 biggest sub you can buy from JL!!!!
5 farad cap
a couple of boxes of dynamat extreme for the front doors, rear shelf and all the boot area....

the boot is goin to be a false floor with the sub in the tyre well...

so my my only concern is should i run a 2nd battery (another odyesy) so its parallel with the front one... and run 4 guage for the power and earth to it and not use the cap... or should i just use the 5 farad cap and run 0 guage from the front to the back and not worry about the 2nd battery???
so what do u guys recomend...

also pics will follow in the week!

from what i know you would be better off using a second battery than a cap.
someone else should be able to shed more light.

well you already bought the cap so may as well use it...it wont hinder your performance.

What spec oddyssey did u get...may not have to go a second battery unless u really want the extra reserve capacity thus play time when the car aint running?

I prefer to have a solenoid in the boot with boot mounted battery.....that way unless the accessory is on (ie the solenoid links up the boot battery and audio circuit) then there isnt an issue of going to start the car and find both batteries are flat from u running ya system to hard for too long when the car wasnt charging :)

4,2,0 guage is fine to use for both batteries whether boot mounted or not....4 will be fine for your system tho. Just ensure u keep all the cable size for both power and earth the same. Do u plan to upgrade this further to bigger n better stuff in the near or close future to warrant large guage cabling ?

also buy commercial dual battery systems, a good redarc one will be a lifesaver, when the engine is off it isolates ur starting system for u :D no dead batterys that way ;)

Dont worry bout em....just the earth from the battery negative terminal keep short and as large guage as u like....justs o long as its the same or larger than the positive battery terminal connected power line.....ensure the earth has the best possible clean contact...if it connects to a painted metal area.....file the paint of but ensure it stays flat and terminal has good contact and plenty of it
