Hey guys, planning to finally buy some sound deadning material, dynamat i've heard is the good stuff. And it'd want to be since I'll need $200 worth.
Any advice or tips, I assume it's not difficult to install. I need to put it in the boot lining, maybe number plate and my rearview mirror. Thanks!

What were you deadening for that $200 and its easy to spend over that...just depends what your going for and what exactly your deadening - the spray on sound off stuff is great too..
As said though take ya time and a hair dryer/heat gun with a rubber roller will help heaps..

yeh take all the time you need, myself, took it bit to quick an it didnt work as well as it should have, although it still kills boot rattle, number plate rattle, an also helps produce a nice clean bass....you could always just try applying on boot lid to get the hang of it, and if it doesnt work you can always replace the boot lid fairly easy

Deadening the front doors (i.e. where your speakers are) is a very worthwhile upgrade in sound quality, and downgrade in road noise.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have purchased a kit to do the full boot but I think I'm just gonna do the lid and number plate to start. I want to do the rearview mirror too because it rattles audibly. Then maybe front doors. Should be enough.

There's no need to Dynamat on number plates or rearview mirrors. Deadener is made to DEADEN panels, generally metal panels by adding mass and dampening it as it's made of asphalt or rubber. It helps eliminate resonances in panels, that what deadening is.
If you have rattles (when 2 objects are vibrating against each other), you're better off using rubber or foam to separate the two objects that are hitting each other. You'll save money, weight and be doing it properly |

I have used around $500 worth off the stuff and found that it adds alot off weight and i needed it because off the system i have . I put it on the boot lid , all in the boot and all under the rear seat and parcell shelf but found yers it stops the rattle off those panels , but it makes other panels start to rattle , so u will have never ending rattle , it makes it sound alot cleaner and smooth ...
