Hey guys,

Just saw this sub in Cashies for $159 down from $229. Is it any good? Would it be alright paired with my Response 820WRMS Monoblock? Or would it not be powerful enough?

Your mono would power it fine, you'd wire it up as 2ohms so you'd be showing it about 600rms, which is only a bit more than what it's rated at.
Set the gains appropriately and it'd pound along nicely.

The Response is 700WRMS at 2ohms... That's why I was worried as it's 250watts over it's rated power...

Nope it'll be fine. Just set the gains appropriately. Most subs can take a fair bit over their RMS anyway.

Yep I do. If you knew what the gains knob is and how it works you would too.

Haha... yeh I do, I just meant... um... never mind. I guess it was funnier in my head :(

I reckon I'll give it a miss for now. $159 doesn't really seem like a fantastic price for it second hand. I'll just keep waiting until something with a higher RMS rating comes around. I wanna have a bit of headroom to play with with my sub. Use my amp to it's full potential. For a single 2ohm sub anyways...

That sub is much more for SQ than doof so its a personal choice.

Yeh... I am more after SQ as my stereo barely goes above 20% volume. But I would still like to have a sub that I know will take whatever I dish out to it. I really needa' reshape and port my box as well. When I built it I knew s**t about sub enclosures so I kinda' just built it to fit in behyind my seats and didn't take into account what volume it should be. Surprisingly I wasn't far off but it could still do with a tweak here and there.
