I Have a Clarion 12 inch sub in my boot, which is 800w running on a 1000w amp, and i have really annoying boot vibrations, and it rattles the crap out of my parcel shelf speakers and tweeters. i have tried using sikaflex in the bracing of the boot, but that hasnt worked, and i have had a few squares of the sound deadening stuff from jaycar, but that hasnt worked either. and im wondering if anyone has any ideas?

if it makes a difference i have a LPG Tank in the boot also.

thanks guys, sorry if this has been answered before. either i was looking in the wrong place or my searching skills are s#@t. :)

Okay, any techniques for the parcel shelf? And is there a cover you can get to cover the factory sub hole (thinking of cutting it out )

For the parcel shelf just take off the factory trim, find all the wires that run across the top of the parcel self and put some foam underneath them. and make sure the factory trim that sits over the parcel shelf has a layer of foam all the way underneath it. For the sub hole id just make an MDF blanking plate the same size as the sub and paint it black.

Some dynamat will help alot as well.

hahaha had the same prolem after my first sub intall in my old car. Drove through the cross with everyone looking at me like "wtf rattle box!!!"
i used liquid nails on the bracing, glueing the bracing to the actual boot panel. this worked wonders for me till i got dual 12's and the roof started rattling :(
good luck buddy!!!

Be very careful with expanda-foam. If you put too much in you WILL buckle the outer panel.
Small amounts at a time and test it each time. Keep adding small amounts until the rattles stop.

i didnt have this issue but i did find that it bubbles out of the holes and onto the carpet and then it is a C*** to get off the boot carpet

Another annoying rattle you get is with the later AU's above is the rear vision mirror.. they use a spring clip insead of the old grub screw... I found fitting one of these nice big red rubber bands to a hook monted on the glass has cured it... Rubber band goes from the end of the shaft (mirror back) to the hook. Just needs a slight pressure on there to stop the mirror shaking so much....

Cut up a bike tube and shove it everywhere you can. Works great.
