I was wondering if my car had a cd stacker.. It doesnt have the premium sound, it has the mid sound.. and it has the cd button and change disc on the tape deck.
so i read through the instruction book to learn that its kept in the boot..
Only problem is i cant find it, call me blind, but arnt they usualy screwed under the parcel tray??? There is nothing there!!!... Have i been ripped off!! of did they come out with those buttons on the player and you was supposed to pay extra for the stacker???
I know the car was a sale's reps, maybe they took it out for more boot space.. But i cant find any wire loom hanging around there that might show it was there...
Whats the story??? Has anyone got one laying around for sale??.. with the wire loom??
thanks..

I don't think they come standard on EF Fairmonts.. My old EF Fairmont had it inbetween the rear seat & Gas tank..

It didn't come standard in Fairmonts. It was an option. I have an EL fairmont and i don't have one.

So the mid range sound has the option, but you had to ask for the stacker.. Spewing..

The Xr's and the Fairmonts shared the same mid range head unit that has the disc changer controls but it was an optional extra.
Grab an Alpine cha-634 with the Ford adapter plus the m-bus to ai-net adapter and then you will have 6 mp3 discs at your finger tips.....
Otherwise you can grab an older m-bus stacker and just use the Ford to m-bus adapter, I have a stacker if your interested and I may still have the adapter as well....

Well considering it is an Alpine stacker an Alpine dealer would be a good start, as long as they are a good dealer they will know exactly what you need using the stacker and adapter I mentioned above....

I paid $300 including the m-bus to Ai-net adapter but that was a deal so your $349 should be about right, I dunno how much the adapter will be plus you will need the Ford to m-bus adapter as well but you need to make sure the 2 adapters are the right gender to be able to connect together.
Let me know if you can't get the Ford adapter...

Just adding to the info / confusion-

My EF Fairmont Ghia didn't have a stacker from the factory.

A mate had a EL Ghia with stuffed stacker. I grabbed the cable from it, an adaptor from an alpine dealer in Redcliffe and an old m-bus stacker from ebay. Works like a treat!

I also believe that some of the newer alpine stackers are also m-bus able. Speak to the Alpine dealers - some can be a pain about it while others are very helpful. I went to three different ones before someone was willing to help!
