Well my arial has stoped working lately, it no longer moves up and down when meant to, although you can still hear the sound that it makes it no longer moves. How broken is it? and what will I be looking at in order to fix it?

Thanks in advance

probably a stripped or jammed mast rope, replacement masts are $10-$30, pull the electric aerial out, strip it down and replace the mast

I have the same problem with my EB Fairmont Ghia. It worked last night and partially raised the arial this morning, but alas it isn't working at the moment. I can hear the motor running, but there seems to be an underlying grinding sound.

If I have to replace the mast head is there somewhere I can find some diagrams on how the get the arial out

just a note, the masts should not be lubed with wd40 to often, there are proper arial lubes avaliable, Vaso is the next best thing just wipe off excess.

Just to clarify the position of the bolts - I understand the behind the passenger front wheel, but do you mean the others are in the wheel well :?:
The other is whatever goes up the middle of the arial to raise it doesn't seem to be there. Can the arial mast be serviced or will I need to buy the arial mast. If I have to buy one where will I get one :?:

sounds like u dont know what your one about so i would leave it a mechanic get some quotes to get the mast replaced but if it is realy bad u might need a whole antenna if so speake to a wrecker.

Thanks for your reply NUTZEF. I will give most things ago - how I get there is none of your business, especially if you add NO useful information. Neither will I be-little someone who does not have the same training or experience as I, but willing to give something a go. I can however put several words together and spell them correctly to form ligible sentences.
