Can anyone advise if there is a compatible CD stacker as an alternative to the original "Ford" stacker? I am finding it difficult to source one. I was advised that the Alpine is possible, & if so what model. The factory radio has a CD control button on the facia. Thanks, Ron

The Ford factory H/Us (at least in EF/ELs though as near as I can tell, EA-Ds are fairly similar) use Alpines M-BUS protocol for communications between the stacker and the H/U. They use a proprietary connector instead of Alpines usual DIN connector but an Alpine dealer should be able to hook you up with the right adaptor lead. Once you have the adaptor you can hook up virtually any Alpine M-BUS compatible stacker but if the budget will allow it, I'd recommend you go for the CHA-S634. In addition to regular CD playback, it can also play MP3s. It's also dual bus, compatible with both M-BUS and the newer Ai-Net protocols giving you an upgrade path to a newer Alpine H/U if you ever decide to get rid of the factory one.
