Hey guys
just wonderin if anyone knows the size of the standard EF front speakers......and if 6.5" splits will fit in the standard hole???

6" in the front. But sometimes 5.5" or 6.5" will be a perfect fit. Reason being is because different manufacturers measure there speakers differently. One thing to be careful of though is the depth of the speaker - although in the 5 pairs I've had never been an issue.

i have a funny feelin me 6.5" splits wont fit coz they are quite deap.
will only have to wait and see

What splits are they? And what is the depth of them? Mine are reasonably chunky with cast aluminium baskets and they fit easily....

All the 6.5" speakers I looked at and actually liked didnt fit depth wise!
Didnt even consider actual "slim" speakers for this exact purpose.. Anyway, went n auditioned some Focal Slims and the ordianry version, i couldnt hear the difference, both were great n dare i say their small magnet technology is to be quite commended IMHO, theres a good 2inches missing off the back - so got the slims, fit EASILY and never looked back.
They also match well with the focals in the rear, being the rear the depth wasnt the issue..
