never looked inside the unit but at a guess I would say yes - have you opened it up to investigate ?

I also have a question about the same system. When I bought my car the stereo done what it should except there was no sound, radio, casset and cd changer all seemed to work fine with the exception that no sound came from the speekers. The dealer fitted a single disc player but I really would like to have my premium sound pack working the way it should. Does any one have some ideas as to wether it could be fixed.

The premium sound system uses an external amplifier, maybe the fuse for the amp is blown.....
As for cost to upgrade from a wrecker could cost $$$$$ but I have seen some go on ebay for under $100 less the speakers which aren't very good anyway.

The HU on the premo system powers the fronts and the other speakers (rears and sub) are powered by the amp in the right side of the boot, the amps audio signal is supplied from the processor so if its not displaying it may very well be the problem with no sound from the rear or sub. Check all plugs and connections between HU and processor are ok and that the processor is getting power.
