I found with mounting my VDO DAYTONA into the EF I could not use the original screws or brackets as it was too big/wide, I ended up using some light weight blind brackets and some spare domed mother board screws fits tight as a nuns now.

ull be suprised howmany store returns we get back where ppl have drilled new mounting holes into the hu and gone straight thru the radio tuner and voltage regs, its one of the most common things, and the sad part is cos they modified the chassis we have to throw the deck out

I installed my Pioneer 4850MP into my EF last night, and it didnt take too long, I know it was less than an hour.
All I did was pull out the old gear and wired it up, and screwed the black slidey mounts onto the HU. Slipped in fine and lines up great.

i just went and bought a small sheet of alumnium and cut it up and bent it into the shape of the standard rails. didnt particularly feel like bashing the originals flat!!

no photos... but i promise they are really sexy!

ok these are piece of piss to wire up the black wire with the spade terminal is earth the easist way is buy a test light (cause unfortuntly i cant rember the colours for el at this minute if ya give us a day i can tell ya) and find the constant power (dont quote me but i THINK it pink with blue trace) and conect ya constant on ya head deck to that then find the acc wire (blue with white mabey) and then ya speaker wires and ya laughing

I have done many an install over the years and I gotta say the El is the easiest by a long way to fit either single din or double din.
If I say an install running around an Ef or El with a hammer to fit a head unit I would run away and find a better installer.....
At worst to fit a standard din sized unit all you need to do is drill new holes in the factory rails and slide it in.

Done....
