Can factory 6'' rear speaker grilles be seperated from speaker, ef-el?

Yes, take out the speakers and you've just got to try and pop them of, without cracking them if possible, not the end of the world if they do but still.

They sure can, once they are removed you will find small reccesses in the grille to allow the use of a screwdriver to pry the grilles off, do it carefully as they are brittle.
Why do you want to remove them for? If you want to put them on aftermarket speakers they most likely won't fit as they are 6", most aftermarket speakers are 6.5".....

Thanks, yeeh are brittle started to crack a bit, got to give another go, going to put aftermarket ones in pioneer 6'' 16 cms they say, also 17cm compatible.

They are not 6" they are 6.5"... 6" is 15cm......

Ah ok, if most after market speakers are 6.5", how do you make them fit?

I've got a set of pioneer dual cone with them on myself cost me like 5 bucks down the wreckers, hehe.

Use either 6" speakers or use the grilles that come with the new speakers....

Yeh ill just use the grilles that come with new speakers........just got to find a way to install the 6.5'' inch speakers........

Legally you need to use spacers as you aren't allowed to cut the shelf....

Yeh i know......maybe i can use some MDF wood under the carpet, with it being 5-10 mm in height then mount it to the parcel shelf. Then drill holes for speaker screws in wood, then cover it with the carpet again.......

Try and test fit them first, some 6.5s fit in the 6" holes, just depends on how they take there measurements etc, like I have a set of jvc 6.5s in the doors, that just bolted straight in.

Yeh going to try them out when i get them, bcoz different brands measure differently, incase they dont fit, ill try the MDF, let use know how it turns out

ey guys, i installed the speakers in the rear, what i did is that i mounted them in factory position and just screwed self-tape screws into the carpet,made sure the screws were short so they wouldnt pearce out the other side of carpet. It works great and now there is less rattling noises from boot,bcoz speakers are mounted on the carpet:)
