The car is an AU II forte
Hey just hoping some can tell me if it is possible to hook up aftermarket audio to the factory headunit. Heres exactly what i want. I want to run two 15" subs through an aftermarket amp and run extra speakers at the front. With the ability to control all of this from the factory head unit. Any suggestions???

Yes it is possible, you need to use high to low level converters. they use the speaker output on the original headunit and convert the output to a lower level. here is a link to a fusion brand one but almost all car audio brands sell them. http://www.fusionelectronics.com/car/products/accessories/hl-02
But i have a question for you, why do you want to keep the factory headunit? Hope this info helps Cheers, lukas |

hey mate thanks
ummmm in regards to keeping the factory unit...... i like the stock look of the unit......i had an aftermarket pioneer DVD player in there but with the curved face of the AU dash it looked really out of place and i like it to be neat. thanks again
