I have the torx bit needed but the bolts have the little stub in the middle of the torx pattern, and my torx bit isnt hollow to compensate.. How do I get these bolts off?

go to supercrap or something and buy a set of the security torx. I bought crappy ones for like 10 bucks and they have lasted me for 2 years.

I got the torx screw from repco with the little hole in the centre. Came out easily. Make sure you have the right one.

if you get stuck just drill them out, or file a slot in them and use a flat blade screwdriver.

It is the age old adage, use the right tools for the right job....
Get the torx bit that fits, I got mine from Tandy's $20 for a full set of varying types of security bits....

Most auto stores or hardware stores sell the torx bits sets for about $20.00.

9 years ago when they were not common I found that the centre pin will break off if you bend it until it fatigues then use a normal torx bit.

Finally got em out lol. Used pliers haha! Thnx alfy! thanks for all the replies guys..

now onto another problem.. needa get a mounting bracket of some kind. I took the ones off the stocko headunit and tried them but the thing wont fit into the slot with them. Can I go down to strathfield and the like and get them to make a bracket and mount it up?

I did all the wiring up myself and the thing works real good~

A two din mounting bracket may work even with the single din facia.
