I have an EF Fairmont with in dash stereo cassette player, in the boot I have a 6 stack factory CD. When turning onto the CD player it comes up with a fault code of (2E). It worked well for a while then faulted, I took it to Ford who fixed it, but then it faulted again later. They said it just needed cleaning, when I asked what the code was they would'nt tell me. I would like to know what the code stands for so I can make a decision on whether to keep the stacker or buy another.

I'll have a look tonight in the books for you but I don't seem to recall any codes for the stereo in there ... have you tried giving it a clean or a quick spurt with some compressed air - could be just the laser is dirty.....
