Just going to give it a go soon i think, currently have my 2x clarion 10" dvcs in a box and box seems to be a right pain in the a** of in the way due to the LPG tank (which soon mind u will have its own character once ive done with it lol)

basically curious to whose done their own boot enclosures with fibreglassing/customing it for whatevr setup they have/and if or pics with it too and some tips?

i know the basics and framing etc as you do to get the shape so on. pretty much im thinking of putting each sub on each side of the boot leaving the middle free with a thin fake floor as well / recarpeting in tweed/vinyl (Colour of vinyl unknown but not blue lol) and going on from there i guess?.. some lighting etc of course too. wondering if having each sub on each side will still provide the unf i want from them and how the hell do u measure i custom box size? lol

the only problem i can see is phase
if you have the subs facing one another then they will cancel each other out.
altho i guess you could wire them up out of phase to fix that, just thinking out loud really.

Think of an EF boot.

This is my ideal setup.

Two 12" subs in the side pockets running to two amps situated symmeticrally on the floor in between. THen a fake fibreglass floor with perspex panels showing the amps. Then LED lights situated around the boot, probably the ones that show multiple clolours at certain intervals, running up to about 10-15" TFT monitor in the top of the boot (the part that folds up) running to my DVD setup.

Whether or not it willwork and give good sound quality, I will ahve to figure out with my mate who does that stuff for a living.

Eventually thats whjat will go into my car hopefully, probably with some additions though.

Forgot to say:

The subs held in by fibreglass.

And maybe swap the positiong of the subs and amps to give better qualtiy.

Car audio australia have some awesome stories on Box building and fibreglassing on their forums.....found it to be a good read.
