Alright, i though i might keep you all informed of my new system install.
So far ive installed the new fancy deck (clarion DXZ776USB) awesome unit, very much geard towards SQ. Also ran all the cableing and RCA"s etc. So all the borign stuff is done. Today tho, me and a mate started on the fun part, Glassing the boot of my EL. See pics below, it was a real bastard to mask everything up, but let me tell you preparation is everything because glassing gets very messy. first we masked the area i wanted to fibreglass with masking tape, and then covered it with normal Aluminium Foil... Covered the rest of my car with plastic to protect from any spillages and then got fibreglassing. The intention is to maximise the volume i will be using for the enclosure behind the seat without using up too much boot space. Anyway, mixed the resin, placed the matting and generally covered the masked areas with 3 layers. Used 2 1000W lamps to warm the area so it would dry alot quiker and in bout 2 hours whe was ready to pop out! so at the end of the day i now have a perfect mould of an EL rear boot! Turned out really well. Stay tuned as the box progress' Ill try and update at least once a week. Questions, Problems, Queried?....let me know your thoughts... {DESCRIPTION} {DESCRIPTION} {DESCRIPTION} {DESCRIPTION} {DESCRIPTION} This is the finished mould out of the car.... |

Looking good mate but from the pics it looks like it will be very hard to fit once the box is finished as it appears it will foul on the boot hinges....
