As subject says.....
I was thinking about it i don't want to up grade head unit and i don't want to blow $300 for new front splits... So would it be worth connecting a 12'' sub and amp to the factory system?? Will there be enough treble produce from factory components?? Any problems i would have with this?? Looking at spending $500 max, cheaper the better though....

basically the stock audio systems (most of them) didn't have RCA Pre-Outs... so you have to buy this little thing from jaycar (like $15 or something), and they take the sound from your speakers, and drop it down to low voltage again for the input in your amp. S o you hook up this converter to your rear speaker, and then that gets converter to a pre-out, and then you connect the RCA cables to converter and amp, and hook up the sub. alll done. some tuning and thats it.
As for subs and amps... well, have a look on ebay they have some cheap stuff going on there... but be warned. don't get $30 subs, or $50 subs... buy only reputable subs... not tornado or some s**t. And remember that sub needs box. Cheers PS - I have one of those converters if you know where parklea markets is, you can come get it.
