my screen can been seen by front seat passengers pretty good when the car is in drive, but i am looking into making a custom low auto shifter.
oh the head unit is a viscom dvd/vcd/mp3/cd/am/fm head unit with 4 x 15 watts output, 2 sets of rca audio and video inputs, plus front, rear and sub rca preouts it does what i need at this point of time |

looks good. how hard was the facia to modify? what did you use to modify it? Does yur screen sit in a housing if its own or in the facia itself? (so many question)

I am probably too old for this thread, but what is the point?????
Been driving for over 20 years all over this country, and never once had the need for a tv in a car, why stuff up a perfectly good car with dodgy installs. Noticed someone installed one ina BF GT-P wish I had one of those, and I would certainly not stuff it up by putting a TV screen in it, just seems like a matter of more money than sense... But I will probably get shouted down for my comments as a TV in a car seems more important than any practicallity.. When I bought my XR8 it had a sub box and some sony head unit that lasted about 2 hours after I bought the car home till it was listed on e bay and replaced with the genuine stereo system... |

Oi!!! I had the DVD head unit before I got the GT-P. And my sense is what got me the money to buy a GT-P. Sitting around wishing for s**t isn't going to get anything done. Go out and do it.

i see your point and really i have no genuine NEED for a tv screen in my car but none the less, i want to give it a go.
Its funny actually how what you like and prefer changes with age. I can remember when all i wanted was a little 4cyl rice rocket. Woudlnt waste my cash on one now. In a couple of years i can see myself expressing the same point as you are but may as well live it up while im young. Damn us young people, damn us all. |

HA! Thats funny. When i bought my XR6 around 2 hours later I put my aftermarket head unit in. Standard stereo is dissapointing. |

yes the screen is in a housing so it can be removed. you have to do it the way to be able to access the standard facia mounting screws. as for tools and materials, i used half a hacksaw blade, expander foan and bog. i am atm trying to get it to a better finish then i have
