was wondering if running 4 5x7 type R's in my falcon would sound good or would there be parts of the sound that are lacking ??

if so i may just end up altering the holes and putting in my 6" fronts and 6x9 rears that i have in my old car coz i know that sounds good

6x9s are NOT good. Why does everybody think they are the bees knees. All they do is jumble all the sounds together and add bass. Get a good set of 6-6.5" components in the front and leave the rears as is. Some Rockford Fosgate power series components will do the job well. Its all about the front stage. If you want to go and spend a tonne of money on good front and rear speakers, go ahead, but the only ones that will make the difference to you (the driver) is the front stage setup. Spend $350 on GOOD components in the front first, then if you feel you still need a rear stage upgrade, go for something cheaper.

Same as 6x9s. You will be very disappointed in the sound quality difference between just the fosgate components in the front compared to the 5x7s all round. The fosgates will still pump out more bass than the 5x7s. They are able to provide a clearer sound by using a better quality crossover and separating the mid-bass from the tweeters. If it was me doing it, i would go just the fosgates in the front and be done with it. Mount the tweeters in a ~ head height location firing towards the driver/passenger. And sound deaden the front doors. You will be amazed at how good it will sound.

Get a pair of Hertz Hi-Energy 6.5" splits (HSK165) in the front and go 6.5" coaxials (HCX165) in the back with a quality amp. This setup will keep you happy.

dont destroy the sound by putting a gay pioneer or sony sub that drowns out the sounds
