yeah just got a sony draw thing so sit my ipod in....($29 from super cheap)
hears the headunit... if you have any trouble trying to mount the h/u i cable tied the bracket to a lip that hangs out under the heater controls and used that black rubber nobe at the back (same as the stock h/u uses)

Hey mate, that looks pretty good. Its sort of a shame that the bottom draw overhangs the dash a little bit. I know you can get the ford (or aftermarket) moulded pocket things...but none come with a cool draw like that!

Did you get a module to keep the steering wheel controls or not that interested?

yeah haven't got it yet.. speakers and amp have priority over that... but yeah the headunit has the connection... where would i get the adapter from...

I'm fairly sure the draw didn't come with a surround but iv got a spear one I'll going to put on it... should look a bit better

Planning on doing my boot install pretty much the same as this but with two 12 " Type-R Subs... just a few questions

Image

i want the subs to be facing the same way as these but just wondering if thats ok with type-Rs with a sealed Box... or would a ported box be better...

Im going to mount the two amps in the floor like these but want to put glass or perspecs over the top... would it be ok to use computer fans to circulate the air??? the floor will have to be raised a bit for this

type - r subs are fine being mounted inverted in a sealed box, just make sure each has its own separate enclosure (ie if you make one box make sure its got a divider in the midde so each sub has its own sealed area) and that each sub has its recommended enclosure size.

If i was you i would try mounting amps on the side vertically, so you can still access the spare, but if your set on mounting them on the floor i would recommend a fan if they're to be covered by perspex.

Type Rs lend themselves more to a ported box.
Inverted will make no difference, just have to switch the wiring from so they're in phase. eg pos on amp goes to neg on sub.

Niiice headunit. Very nice.

You can make a proted box, and in general for thumping bass its better....however they are extremely difficult to get right, you need surgical precision to get the port to the right length/diamter/postion etc.

A sealed box is very easy will give great 'tight' bass without any risk of stuffing it up

thanks guys yeah might stick with the sealed box... still putting the amps on the floor but will make the floor liftable for spare access...might run perspex but leave a few cm gap around the edge and use a few comp fans... the uneven floor s**t me but leaves open a few ideas...
