I want to wire my TV in stead of using the cig lighter all the time.

I assume the TV has a negative and a positive wire and I am pretty sure to do this all I do is run the positive to the headunit power and the negative to the headunit ground since they are all constant instead of intermittent.

Question is what colour woul the positive and negative wires be from Ford? I would assume black is negative but need to be sure.

Thanks.

Yellow is usually fords positive wire.....but you could just run a new wire from the battery, through the firewall cause that way you can put your own fuse in incase you have a short, wouldnt want to blow up the screen. Then you can use the headunit ground

Dylan,

I just powered mine from the cigarette lighter power. Very low current drain for these screens.

Grab a worshop manual and you'll easily see which wires are +ve and which are ground.

Most units that I've seen already have an inline fuse on them. I just joined my TV tuner and screen onto the radio lines no problems. I've got the wiring diagram somewhere, I'll try and find it.

Well since I have wired in some courtesy lights and door lamps, I would assume yellow and green is positive and black/blue would be negative. Thats all coming fromt he keyhole illumination light though, and I would asusme that the cig lighter is the same. Now would black or black/white be positive off the TV?
