Hi guys,
I've rigged up the wiring harness and earthing and such (the unit works perfectly and is operational)...BUT...now i've come to the point where I can't mount the unit to the car - the rails off my old factory cassette deck (EL Fairmont) dont match with the holes on the head unit and are bent so I can't really use them even if they did match. ...I'm assuming theres probably some kind of sleeve/caddy kit for headunits that I could use - but i'm yet to find one..Any suggestions? |

All my headunits have come with a sleeve thing they slide into (all 3 or 4 that is) - what I do is flatten out the factory brackets and jam them in the sleeve with the new headunit, sounds dodge but there jammed in so hard they don't budge, it's not that easy todo though.

My Xplod didnt quite fit in, was about 1-2mm out. Just force it in using aftermarket or your own rails and it should work.

Tried your method -it works well.. a little off center i've found but I dont care..at least i can play cd's now without the fear of the unit just dropping out of reach behind that plastic facia.
