Hey All,
I'm looking into getting a new head unit for my EL, as I have finally decided to retire the factory one.
I'm not entirely sure which to go for, I want iPod connectivity, CD playing capability but does not need to have Bluetooth.
I still have the 60watt factory speakers in the car so I need something that will be ok with them for now, but will have potential for handling subs, new speakers etc in the future....

Any suggestions would be great...

You will most likely destroy your standard speakers pretty quickly with an aftermarket head unit.

It's best to run a 4 channel amp with new speakers and a mono block amp for the sub. You can run a 5 channel amp to run all of them aswell.

Depends how much you want to spend. I have Hertz Hi-Energy in mine. They are nice and clear and have a nice punch.

Yep you will want the HSK 165, the component speakers.

I have this head unit which I bought a while ago now (4 years or something). Haven't had any faults with it and still running today. There was a Bluetooth version of this as well which my mate bought at the same time and also haven't had any faults.

There are newer models out similar to this now and look better and similar in price as what I paid. Can't guarantee same build quality but I haven't had issues with Pioneer head units before. I have gone through 4 and only because I wanted to upgrade.
