I've searched n stuff but i still dont know wat to do about installing my new JVC dvd headunit and later on an indash 7inch screen..
would i be able to put the headunit in that lil gap under the old h/u with a bit of customisation?
and is this hard to do???
I'm an absolute noob when it comes to this and i just want a sweet looking/sounding system..

Either the screen needs to go below the player which is a pain in the a*** as it blocks off the players buttons when the screens out, or the screen has to be mounted sticking out.
Reason being is otherwise it hits on that protruding part of the dash when it's out (the part below the trip computer/clock and climate control and above the stereo).
Yes your current stereo surround can easily be cut to become double DIN.
I've done it, there'd be photos in a thread somewhere. I just used a hacksaw blade and a file.

are you already mounting a flip out screen unit or just a dvd compatable single din unit with a permant screen i.e like head rest screens if its just a flip out you can install them in the origanal head unit area as i have done this before with a kenwood flip out on an ef xr8 can post pics if ya want and it doesnt hit the lip under the clock, trip computer its all about FLUSH fitting

yeah that can work then just be carefull with ebay cheapie stuff and if you want to save hassles go to your local wreckers and see if they have a double din stero surround out of ef/el/df/dl/nf/nl fairmonts, fairlanes, ltds so you dont have to muck arround cutting filing ect alot came out in the ghia versions of the metioned above

aww sweet yeah will do, i'll head out to the ford wreckers today!
shouldnt be too hard to pick up a double din..
do u suggest any screen?? thats just the screen that will hook up to the headunit?
and wat can i get so i can play movies off my ipod onto the screen, the headunit has a front aux port but i'm guessing that'll just play music from the ipod...
