OK I am planning to run a sony MP3 Tuner (output 52x4) and 2 6" Sony Speakers (Nomial Power 55watt) and 2 6x9's (Nominal Power 100watt). I also plan to have a second battery in the boot (connected to the main batt by a diode and a switch powering a 1000watt modified sine wave inverter that will power a P4 computer and whatever else I have the urge to plug into it. I am goin to put a touch screen in the front that will be hooked up to the PC so that I can use it while im driving, sometime I get the urge to play solitaire while im driving. I plan to hook the stereo system and the touch screen up to the primary battery and the inverter up to the second. Just kidding but I do like the idea of a touch screen with all the music I could want. Other than that the cars electrical system are unmodified. It is all going into an ED Fairmont. Will I need to buy an aftermarket alternetor and if so any suggestions for what one? Also any suggestions for any parts of the system would be appreciated. Also where should I put my fuses and wat size fuses and wires should I use. Also cheap places to buy things I will need on the net or in WA. The touch screen says it has a power consumtion of 8watt.

thats a lot of work there mate. At least get a one deepcycle battery such as an optima red or yellow top to power the s**t. As altenator wise your standard one SHOULDcope but consider getting the Au alternator as it pumps out 110 watt factory.

Just replace my battery as the last one only lasted a 12 months ... on a factory dedicated LPG car ... cranking it over at -5deg C in the morning kinda killed it.
I put in an Optima Yellow Top D34 battery. Much better now. I run the following electricals in my ute: Driving lights Fog lights Stereo (2 amps/headunit 2x12" subs/components) 2-way data terminal for courier work phone charger GPS car fridge sometimes Pluis all the other standard power options as well. It handles it fine ... and the standard AU alternator copes with it fine.

apart from the inverter, nothing else there draws much current at all.
so should have any problems, unless you intend to run the inverter for extended periods of time without the engine running

will if your going to this much trouble why are you running an inverter? why not look into making or buying a dc powersupply for your pc? but yes your altinator will cope so long as your not drawing 80A constant which is quite hard to do
