Iv got an EL gli and its got the 4x6" pioneer factory speakers, they work good, but im just wondering how many watts they are? Because im looking at getting new 4x6" pioneer speakers possibly 260w and just wondering if they would really make that much of difference in better sound, just need some feedback of anyone who has done similar install? thanks

Correct me if im wrong guys but i think from memory the stockies were round 20W/25W RMS.
Been bout 2years since ive seen the back of one... Depends on what you plan to fit as the stockies arent bad lil units for what they are... And 260w aint gonna mean much if your head unit wont supply the amount of power required to get that 260w peak value...as most standard decks are only supplying 15-30w RMS per channel...Your peakers would be 40w RMS+ so you wont be getting the full amount from them without an aftermarket head unit or running them from an external amplifier.

If that.... Probably closer to 10-15..... Ignore the 260w part and go for a set of speakers that you like the sound of instead of grossly over-exagerated power figures....

simple answer buy the new speakers it makes a huge difference
Plus aftermarket headdeck helps a lot too. This is based on the fact that the original speakers are probably a bit on the used side and won't be the best
