Today my sub carked it on me on the way to work, it's a kenwood KFC-W300S 600w (150wrms) and came with an enclosed box, it did the job and kept me happy.
I have decided to buy a new sub tomorrow I am looking at a {DESCRIPTION} as it will run alot better as my amp puts out 450wrms and the TS-W306C pulls a nice 400wrms My question is the original kenwood sub box is approx 28 litres (1 cubit ft) but the TS-W306C recommends 35.4 litres, what will be the affect if I run the TS-W306C in a smaller sub enclosure? or am I better off paying $50+ for another sub box to suit? Any question or recommendation of better subs please give your opinion Cheers

it won't play at it's full potential and sometimes can wreck the sub if the enclosure is too small due to a build up of pressure. but then again i could be talking out of my a**.

yea hey, you will notice the sub wont be performing at its peak , but it will work, if you can afford the $50 then get the proper box, if not just use the small one, just dont over drive the sub.

You probably won't notice. The sub will have more resistance so won't pump quite as hard.

it isnt a huge difference.
only .25c/f anyhow from a google seach i came up with "Recommended sealed enclosure (Litres) 24 - 49.6" if you like your current box, itll be fine.

Thanks for all your help, I purchased the Pioneer sub and installed it, a 400wrms sub sounds heaps better than a 150wrms one!
On the box I found that for a sealed box the min was 24.1L, recommended 35.4L and the max box is 49.1L. I will eventually make one to the recommended size to make the most of the sub thanks again

The only difference will be that it won't play as low and may sound a little boomy, it won't affect how hard it hits in a negative manner at all, it won't wreck the sub due to too much pressure or anything like this it will just be a sound quality thing, thats it!
