a mate has a celice with a boot mounted battery. He ran wiring from the engine bay through the kickplates into the boot.

As far as I know it must be in a secure battery box - one of those plastic ones with a strap over the lid

Yeah i've just looked into this.
Get some cable, 4 or 0 gauge from a car stereo place, some connectore to plut your existing battery connections together in, the engine bay, buy a battery box. Cost me $25 from repco, they just ordered in the size i wanted. Run an earth in the boot somewhere you can, secure it and bobs your uncle. |

I don't know about Odessey batteries, but just pondering why you want to junction the 'ECU stuff' to the boot?

The reason behind runnig all the wire to the boot was on less conection to fail, leaving the ecu wires in the engine bay is far simpler I know just not quite sure how to hook it up do I use a junction box or run all the wires to the starter motor post?

Hes a quick pic of whats been done in my situation, its a carb XE so no need for ecu n such.
U can see the green earth lead goes to the strut housing and the red power lead goes down the back of that seat and out through the floor, then is pined under the car to the front.

they run oddesy batteries in underground NFP toyotas at work. they are forever getting drained due to people leaving the vehicles without switching everything off. charge them up and they are fine dosent effect them at all some battery have been going for over 3 years without a problem. as far as i know they are pretty good giving good CCA in an even smaller enclosure. downside is cost
