First, I apologise if I don't make myself clear, as I'm about 3 minutes old when it comes to this stuff, so I really am unsure about 99% of this.

Here's my issue:

I bought a BA XT Futura with amp/subs but not hooked up. The guy had it connected but for one reason or another he ripped it all out. Now I'd like to put it all back together but have encountered the issue of not knowing what the hell I'm doing. I can go to get it done obviously, but if I can fix it myself, I'd much prefer that option.

The dodgy wiring aside (I'll fix that up) - this is what I see:

Image

a) He's messed with behind the tissue box, which in setting up the remote for the amp, he's disconnected the lighter completely (which I want back in use). Can anybody explain what these wires are? The blue goes to the amp from accessories.

b) I don't know where the high to low converter hooks up.

I've worked out and connected to the battery, the ground, the accessories, the speakers, the subs. I just don't know where to get the sound from the HU to the amp (through the converter which is plugged in to the amp). Naturally I assume he's already done this, but without ripping things apart, I can't find where.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hey Mate,

Well looks like most of it is sorted. If you got an aftermarket deck you need to use RCA's if your deck has them, to connect to your AMP. Otherwise you should be able to hook the speaker wires up to the AMP directly as there will be an input for this on the AMP. You can either pull off the door trims and follow the speaker wires back to their point of origrin or you can rip apart the dash and have a look at behind the deck. personally i would rip the door trims off and see what colour the wires are so you know which colour corresponds to which speaker. Then wire these up to the AMP.
