Hey guys..
Decided to hack up my dash to fit my 8" touch screen.. its not in atm and i'm really liking not having the screen there!! So anyway.. what my idea is... is to 1) Move cd player 2) hack up plastic .. ie cut out slot and stereo hole... 3) jig up some metal dodads so screen sits where i want it... 4) (this part in not sure on) ... fiberglass/something to smooth/blend it in.. so yeah... i kinda want the screen on an angle so it points up a bit... Whats the best way to go about this remembering that i want it blended in smoothly.. especially the fiberglassing bit.. that bit i got NFI!! Also thinking about putting my CD player in glove box or somewhere and putting the face in this panel with the touchscreen and running wires between em..... |

Make up a support frame, and then use a combination of fabric and balsa wood to make the basic shape. Fibreglass over top of that to add strength, and then bondo over that to make it all smooth. And then paint!

Yeah, doesnt look too hard! As long as you can use the outer edge of the panel in which it sits youll be fine. Then just go from there. If you had to integrate it into the vinyl part of the dash (if it was wider than the available area for example) then it would become hard.

looks like all you need is a wooden frame that would sit around the screen and one on the outter edge and fibreglass them then bog and sand abit and paint:P
