Making a start on my sound system tomorrow night, anyone got any pics or pointers on how to install one?
Also does anyone have a picture of the back of a standard ba/bf head unit? Thanks.

hi mate,
im currently fighting my way through the install of new front splits and a sub run off 2 seperate amps in my old mans BF GT. i bought a soundstream hi lo converter and going off my BA XR8 ute ive located the speaker cables feeding each speaker and have cut them, extending the cable that terminates behind the ICC and wiring the other end of it into the hi lo converter for each of the 4 speakers. the other section of cable that goes up to each speaker will have to be extended and connected to the amp to feed the speakers more power then factory. connect the hi lo converter to the amp / each amp with rca leads (so the signal goes through the converter, and to the amp, then amplified and fed to the speakers) now the thing that im smashing my head over now is the factory amp and sub wiring that ford has installed in the premium sound. there are 2 larger yellow cables and 2 larger black cables that feed the factory amp 12v and ground, then there is a 4 core cable that has a few different colours, and i dont know what 2 cables are the signal wires for the sub. dont suppose you could help? |

sub + : skyblue white
sub - : blue solid if installing aftermarket audio i recommend the following: disconnect the facory amp, the amp Via the canbus tell the ICC to put pass filters on the full rangee speakers , this is unwanted in an aftermarket system. plus the sub pass is i think 100Hz and not adjustable. feed the full range to the monoblock and use its settings for the pass filter. some levelconvertor like load on the speaker inputs so if replacing the fulll range with amps, load the the icc output with 4 OHM resistors (at least 5watt) that should help you out
