hmm chef i believe , that this can be done the same way as the early e series, on the drivers side there is a rather large gromet in the firewall take the front guard off and u will see it, its quite easy to find. any way ill tear mums au apart and confirm for u if needed otherwise have a poke around for it, i got 0g thru it on the e series so id imagine its still there on the au as the engine loom runs thru it.

By the sounds of it chef its too late but just my two cents anyway...
I did a BA install over the weekend and was tossing up between the clutch grommet and where the main loom goes. Decided loom plug would be the best option as the clutch grommet is in the middle of nowhere. Leaving it as the second option if the loom plug was too hard. As it turns out the loom plug way was waaaaay to easy to do, and is far neater in the engine bay, and really even though it's hidden inside the car on both routes, is realistically neater on the inside as its already on the side of the car. Just a quick step by step on what i did. remove fuse panel cover remove kick panel- side strip. 3 clips behind and a christmas tree clip. the loom plug has three connecters on it- disconnect these. pull rubber plug from body. pierce a new hole in the grommet (rubber plug) to the side of the main loom with a stanly knife. run a few feet of cable through grommet grab a thin piece of wire and send it through hole in body (not through grommet - just through the hole where the grommet plugs in to) stick your hand down from under the bonnet and grab the wire (personally thought this step would be the killer - honestly took 30 seconds!) tape your cable to the wire. and pull it on through.

theres also a grommet on the passengers side just under the carpet. I run my power wire and boost gauge tubing through it.
