i kept this in mind, expandafoam expands by 300% it took me a while but i squirted small bits at a time so there was no pressure forcing the boot skin upwards too much. i had no issues with mine or my mates i done. its all about time and patience

i havnt trimmed the foam back yet, but when i do i will be doing a quick bog and sand of it and paint it white so it looks factory and then glue in carpet inbetween the bracing. to trim this you simply cut with a knife or file/sand it smooth

at least cut off some of the excess stuff...looks funny...looks like the car is bleeding :P

He did say he planned to dude :P ... was even in your quote at the bottom :)

this is all well and good for an average type sub, expanding foam did s**t ALL for my bootlid, and just made it look messy... it was so s**t i contemplated buying a whole new bootlid... hence why i want to find some carpet to put on there, putting Dynamat in was the best move i made, bought 2 sheets, 1 for the bootlid, and split the other one, half for the back shelf, and the other half to numb stuff at the front like my rattling cluster and front windscreen etc...

1 sheet will do a bootlid only and i got it for $50 but they retail for $70 per sheet... to succesfully do an entire car you need liek 5 sheets so you buy the kit they put out.

i found sitting on the boot lid fixed 80% of the rattle... so its obviously a problem within the lid, ive already siliconed all of the frame of the lid, ill take the rear boot plastic crap off and see how that goes, but atm i dont have a system cause im doin boot install.

alot of silicone will break off and i dont really see how it would stop rattles. expandafoam pushes the boot away from the bracing a bit and it stopped all my rattles. i recoment expanda foam

im not too sure. i thorght about using it but i thorght what if it didnt, what if it breaks in a few months time. i also thorght of liquid nails but the only one in my mind that would work first go no matter what was the expanda foam. i wouldnt mind hearing from others who have sealed boots (i think almost anyone with a sub has)
