Now im only running what i would call a small system, 2 12 inch 600rms total subs, but when cranked the car sounds horrible, youve all heard the commodores that go by with more shakes and rattles in the rear than in the engine bay, i dont wanna be like them.
I dont really want to buy sound deaddener, seems to cost way more than im willing to spend, plus im not really suer on how it works exactly. I will be doing a custom boot install soon so that should fix some of it but i want it as minimal as possible. As for my mirror, when its hot all i can see is my gearstick out the mirror cause it just drops when the bass goes off. I dont wanna hear any sensible suggestions like turn it down either. Thanks.

Boot rattle is your number plate I think, when I got my custom plates on because they where smaller then the big yellow ones the rattle dissapeared, try shoving some cloth behind your plate and see if that helps.

Double sided tape underneath numberplate is the go to fix it.
Original rubber bootlip spoiler helps, adds weight to bootlid Otherwise, sound deaden bootlid, then cover it with EF-EL bootlid carpet modified to fit. Something in the C-Pillar rattles to in EB-ED's, f**k if I know what it is. My parcel shelf has a few rattles too, MDF/carpet actually lifts over the factory sub hole. Sound deaden parcel shelf too to be safe I'd recommend getting a tone CD, go through from like 20 to 120hz, and just track them all down one by one. I keep meaning to do it, just can't be f**k. Boot rattles are hektik.

with the number plate - i have heard people have put silicon on the back of the plate - let it dry then put it back on - not sure if it works - but see what others think!!

i used silicon. Just did 2 Big dabs and that was it.
Also u have the boot lid and on the under side of that there is the 'framework' and inbetween that the the looks sheet metal you put little bits of foam in, either from a pillow or something like that. I did that and it doesnt rattle as much. Also i think u can tighten the mirror. BTW turn it down that would be easy.....sorry had to say that as none else had yet.

good old selley's sealer between framework n sheet metal on bootlid....then high density sound deadening foam...and then the bootlid carpet...also my rear bar virbrated....so i pulled that off and put silicon everywhere where there was contact (and wasnt visible)
if you get it loud enough you also find your interior vibrates....well mine does anyway (on an EL)....so sound deaden doors, walls and anything you can find....and remember selleys is ur best friend

Ive already done the boot frame, liquid nailed that ages ago, the parcel shelf is a big contributor cause you can see it vibrating in the mirror which is also vibrating like a b**ch.
Hoprefully my boot install will reduce some things, like box noise. Where do you get sound deadening foam from? i dont mind using foam, i just cant be a*** forking out the $200+ autobarn ask for stinger deaddener. i should just silicone the plates to the car, ill never get customs and itll piss off the next owner. >:) I pondered doing custom parcel but thatll wait till after the boot install, im already strugling to find time and money for that. Since rego and $500 in fines are due 2 weeks appart. Cops can do you for having a stezza too loud cant they? Cause i dont have a licence atm and id really prefer not to get picked up for noise pollution. Btw Stomper, i have had to turn it down to about 20 from 25, 1 to avoid deafness later in life, 2 to avoid ear drum pain which reverts back to 1. Steady ED, Feel like throwing a white genuine rubber bootlid spoiler my way? Id even be open to a brock or SVO one I want to find a tone cd, only thing is i WOULD abuse it, id just drive with 32htz playing constantly It was so cool the other day, i bought a custard tart and put it on my console lid, and when the bass went off, the tart would vibrate off the lid and the custard would wobble, it looked so awesome. I reccomend you try it, then eat the tart.

on the inside i hope ya mean and nah i wouldnt do this.....depending on the extent u go to and how much u use it can make the fibreglass/plastic very heavy and break off the lil clips.

this is my solution to my ratteling boot, worked great and only cost $8 (can of expanda foam from bunnings) - one can was plenty
i havnt trimmed the foam back yet, but when i do i will be doing a quick bog and sand of it and paint it white so it looks factory and then glue in carpet inbetween the bracing. to trim this you simply cut with a knife or file/sand it smooth |

^ Agree with the foam. I did that and added the boot lid carpet to my EL. Solved all the latent rattles.
A sub will quickly break all the 'glue' they use to attach the boot skin to the frame, causing the rattle. The expanding foam, replaces the glue with something that lasts much better.

It has been said time and time again that doing that can POSSIBLY damage your bootlid due to the fact that the foam expands it COULD theoretically warp the skin of the bootlid.. one thing to keep in mind..
