after some time i decided to get a mp3 player instead of the ford stacker.how do i take out the mid head unit from my fairmont.also what is the best way to run the power cables to the sub amp in the boot.

Pull out ashtray
unscrew face plate covering the stereo pull off face plate i have run the cables along the bottom of the doors then into the boot. youll need to unsrew the plastic coverings which go over the carpet.

yup, pull out ash tray, one screw behind that, and the stereo cover surround should just lift up ...
You might well have some TORX screws holding the ford headunit in . |

those torx screws are the worst, if you dont have the proper tools use wire cutters to pinch the end of the head of the screw and turn, fiddly but it works, go down to hardware shop afterward and get replacment for them to fit it back in

just go to supercheap or autobahn and get urself a torx set. u find out that practically everything has a torx head where u least want them to be. they cost about 15 bux when i bought mine, came in real handy when i took out everything in the car =D. worth the money phong =P~

thanks for the help h/u came out easy with the right tool my dad is a am/radio buff he had heaps of t bits.any way i am a proud owner of a new pioneer mp3 player 5750 and my el fairmont sounds good with std speakers.sub is next to fit cheers jim ps any one want a ford stacker and mid h/u befor it goes on ebay $120.00 |
