if your thinking about spending that type of money i would suggest just spending a bit more and getting the kd-shx705 of even going over to pioneer and getting the deh-p8650mp. The 705 has better visuals with 256 colour and screen saver etc while the 8650 kicks a** in sound quality with high and low pass filters, 4v outputs 4x50rms but only 16 colours. dont get me wrong the 705 also puts out decent sound but not like the 8650...both retain about 750-800 bucks @ JB
if u got anymore q's let me know

dont get me wrong, i agree with you sickd, looks arent everything especially in stereos!!!
but the 8650's sound abilites are only matched by the alpines which cost almost twice the price and are not as visually pleasing
Hey which jvc do you have, i take it no the 705 then

Alpine Head Units are nice, get one of the more expensive ones though otherwise they pretty boring, I have a JVC MP3 player had it since 2002 and still going great, had no issues at all with it. Don't really like the newer model JVC's though they not all that nice to look at in my opinion.

My cheap JVC deck died around about 12 months cd's wouldnt play at all. Then the cd funtion started working again a couple of months later i wasnt too bothered though as it was the cheapest "name brand" MP3 player on the market.
In my opinion clarion cd players are the monst reliable.

Yeah I have had mine for about 12 months and just as it went out of waranty (like by one week) the damn thing started f***ing up. The buttons started doing other functions, the head unit made stupid sounds when it was turned off but i do have to say that for the features that it had and for the price it was great.... just a pitty that it didnt last longer....

But eclipse is better. I have a full alpine system in my car, excluding my back 4inches in the rear doors, s**t explode, i love alpine, sounds good, looks good etc. but for what you pay, you could have a better sounding system in eclipse, sure it doesn't have pretty flashing colours every where. But the sound is unbeatable. I'm definitly going eclipse as soon as i have enough money available to spend on audio. SAeeing as i have about 15k on engine, drivetrain, interior and paint, to spend on my old girl, it will have to wait.
