Hey guys,

Well i am sort of not s**t talking anymore with car audio. In june my system is going to comprise alpine....

9831 hu (already got)
type r splits (already got)
Type r coax (gonna get)
MRV F545 4 channel (125wrms x 4 or 125wrms x 2 and 1 500wrms - already go this)
3 MRD M1005 (1x1000wrms - gotta still get)
6 type r SWR 1222d (12" 500wrms each - already got one of six)
A big yellow top battery which is like 1.5 or double the size of the normal one for the back - gotta get
A red top for the front - gotta get
Then like 14 roles of sound deadening s**t - reluctantly have to get

Now besides that i loose my boot for 4 subs or 6 i am wondering wat do you guys think i should do. it comes to about $4500 for four and $6300 for 6, in these price is the stuff that i need to get not the stuff that i already have. Its more with the extra two because power supply need to be boosted up a notch. How much of a difference do you think that the extra two subs will give....apart from attenion. Also if any of you know what sort of DB will i be hitting.

just to let you know i aint tyre kickin...its gonna happen june. Funny thing is both car audio guys i went to who i have bought off before both say "thats gonna be f**k insane". :P

Cheers

Yeah true 2 Type X, you will be better of with 2 of these than 6 Typr R, 2 would sound much much nicer. but good luck! sounds good!

If your an spl man rather than bridging 12's to share the 3 1005's - just have 3 15" Type-Rs wit a dedicated 1005 each

Again just comes down to how deep yourpocket is or how much doe youd like to pour into this project....and alpine do do the job remebering they arent top of the line but they arent crap either....with worry about spending $6300 on a 6 sub setup I dont think u'd be after $3000 orion front splits or anything......

if he's prepared to spend $6300 on alpine subs and he's chasing SPL, he has many better options that wont rob him of all of his boot space, will perform better and most probably will cost a bit less

what other brand do you suggest, and nah i would like to keep my front splits, they hammer enough for me now. Also i don't need the boot. If i need a boot i will borrow my old mans jazz, what do you think will be picking all the stuff up anyway, that boot is huge with the back seats down.

Just had a look, the type x subsare 83db sensitivity and type r are 85db. i think then going by incar sensitivity info, for an extra 3 db you get double the volume, correct me if i am wrong. But going by that the type r should be 1.66 of the type x volume.

Man i still reckon 2 type X subs and 2 nice big ol' mono blocks running them will make some decent SPL and it will sound good too! :D

If your chasing SPL and are prepared to spend upto $6000+, than you can do alot better than type r's. JL audio w7's would be a good alternative, digital designs, rockfords T3's (i think that's what their called), orion HCCAs just to name a few... These would all be cheaper, more space efficient and would be just as loud if not louder than the alpine setup your looking at.
