earthing it straight to the battery is fine.
does the protective light come on? only thing i can think of is either its in protective mode or its running off low pass on the head unit. |

i check the protective mode, it is off ( no light ) and the power is on. i think the protective mode was on before. But still not working. ill try everything again tomorrow and check the rca cables. the HU i have is a sanyo fxd-mp690 if that helps.
thanks for replying, really appreciate.

yesterday morning i found out that the rca cables where wrong from the head unit. 1 rca cable wasnt connected and the other was connected to aux input. stupid me must of connected it to the wrong one. it all fix. the front speakers sound great but now the problem is trying to pass the wire through the boot door because i got a wagon. sure i use the thicker wire or the stock speaker wire?

where is the amp located? why would you need to pass wires through the boot?
you can use the stock ones |

i got a wagon and the amp is mounted on the back of the back seat. i use thicker wire for the front speakers which is connected to the amp. Now my problem is that the thicker wire cannot pass through this rubber where the stock wire goes throught to the back speakers.

then use the factory wires. altho i wouldnt amp factory speakers. id replace them then amp them as factory speakers are only like 80 watts max, they are already getting almost full power from a factory head unit. amping them will probebly blow them

yeah. if at a later date you get crackling sound when they are loud, then you may have to look at thicker wire, but i use factory wire to my front kenwood splits and i can crank them loud as before they distort with no crackling

Thats splits though. They dont take much power. I might just use the thicker wire so i dont need to upgrade the wire later. Now i need to figure out how to pass the wire through that plastic thing. Basically the plastic thing is a smaller version of the air intake rubber. The wire gets caught on the ripples. I tried a coat hanger to push it though n still gets stuck. Need more ideas.

are you going to take the old wires out? if so then tape the new wires to the end of the old wires and as you pull the old wires back through it will also pull through the new wires simple and easy.
