Hey guys,
I've got an EF Fairmont and am installing some splits in the front, I was just wondering how to get the wire from the door into the car? I've tried putting the wire through the gromett, and just can't find where it ends up?? |

You can run a coat hanger through it, just be sure to tape the end so you don't stab it, also use a little wd40 on it to slide better.
Easiest way is to remove the loom from the car, and do the above. Make sure you run good quality wires, In fact In my car I ran 3 sets of twisted pair, you'll thank yourself when you want to run some auxillaries and theres provision already there. Also the removal method allows you to retape the ends for that fantastic waterproofing.

Be thankful you don't have a B series*.
You can get it through the grommet on a E series. Take's some elbow grease, and it pops out high up behind the dash, keep feeding it through and it'll pop out somewhere easily accessible. * they have a plug between the door and the body, you have to drill out holes though it to get any wire through, or do what I did, and run it partially outside.

On my EB install, I used yellow tongue to push from door side and pulled the wires through. I had new wires for splits and another set I placed in the bottom of the door card. All good thick wires from Jaycar.

On the El I ran 3 sets into the doors, if you remove the grommets it is pretty easy, I used a phillips head srewdriver as it is less likely to cause damage to the original wiring and taped the new wires to the srewdriver and passed it through, simple...
