Hey mate, To be honest, that will be pretty good, i prefer this setup, but thats just me:),
If you have the money deff get this -Alpine MRDM605 V12 Digital Mono Amplifier, MRD-M605 (for your subs) - Alpine Type-S SWS-1242D 12 (your subs), Unless you want to go harder then upgrade your subs to Type R's but then your gonna be looking at a more powerful amp, I have that system setup in my car, and it makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up enough:) Hope this helps -Ash

Hybrid34 - no.
Everything you listed is lower in the tree than what he wants, so no. I'll tell you now that the M1000 is a SOLID amp, and feeds my Clarion 15" plenty with 1000rms on tap @ 2 ohms. It barely gets warm too. I like it, very, very much. Also the digital display allows for very easy tuning. Those subs are good as well, any reason for 2x12"s? maybe one Type X would be better than 2x12"s, minimal cost difference, but a smaller box would be needed for the X over the 2 Rs. Dont go back to Type S', or anything lower than your current amp. The M605, as suggested is underpowered for 2x12"s, especially if you get R's. I'll also suggest that you stay away from all Kenwood gear atm, its far below par, along with most Pioneer amps, though their subs are okay. Also I'm guessing the M1000 is second hand? |
