in my 1997 ford EL falcon GLI wagon im trying to get memory but the only wire i can find is a blue/white wire and i think thats the switched 12v but cant find the constant i dont think it has 1 i took the old stock tape player out of it and installed a kenwood KDC-139 it workes and everything but has no memory and no i dont want to buy a harness

i just cheaked every wiire in the car by grounding it with the accessories on and with them off no wires sparked with it off and only 1 wire sparked with them on so that wire must be the ignition wire meaning i have to battery wire???

Shorting them out isn't a wise idea.
Chances are you now have a blown fuse.


You have to be carefull probing around in daylesford..... I've heard.

na no fuses blown. the link u posted said that the dark green/yellow is the constant but my car dosnt have it it only has dark blue/white

ok in the link it said there are 14 wires and in my car there are 14 wires but in the link the 14th wire is the constant and in my car the 14th is the smart lock witch has to be conected the to the accessories wire or my car wont start

ok after some further research my car should have a dark green/yellow for constant but my car dosnt have that it only has the ignition wire no constent

I had to run my own constant power feed from the battery on both my EFs when I put aftermarket stereos in them. The BEM controls the clock and presets on the stock head unit if I recall, I imagine its the same on the ELs.

edit: Just don't forget to put a fuse in the line.
