is it the number plate, or the actual boot? there are several options for sound-deadening devices - comes down to how much you want to spend really. cheapest & easiest is the expanding filler stuff - spray it up into the cavity of the boot, and that *should* help with it. you could also get it professionally done as well, if you're prepared to spend the $$$

Take off the boot lining and seal up gaps with sound shield and deading spray. Tighten up any loose screws etc.

Thats about all you can do, if thats already been done then you are just gonna have to live with it.

But yeah spray the surface with the deading spray give it a few decent coats to then once thats dry install sound shield. Should keep a fair bit of the buzzing down.

Good luck!

Theres not much really you can do about the number plate. I shoved a s**t of sound shield in my XF and the number plate still buzzed like crazy!!

But yeah either get a pro to treat it for you or just save a bit of $$$ and have a go at it yourself. generally the sound shield works the best for the boots, but spray is good for those hard to reach places.

for the number plate, perhaps line behind it with double sided tape? so then it rattles against the tape as opposed to the boot...

get some thin foam sheet (about 3-4mm thick) and glue it on the back of your rego plate

Or just grab some 12mm foam, stick it behind the plate (two chunks should do) and shove em up there with the sticks. Then remove the sticks. Hey presto!

My brother just stripped his Subaru RS and put in professional sound deadening. It has reduced the noise so much and now we wait til the subs go in.
