Hey i have a clarion max386vd installed in my car and it all works great except the parking brake bypass. i have done some google searchs and can find a way to by pass it with out having to flick a switch on then off again.
does anyone know how i can do this?

i found this on Ebay but doesnt look trust worthy plus cant justify the price at all.

no i dont sadly but even in the manual; it says you may need to enguage the parking brake then disenguage then enguage again to get it to work so im guessing this switch just breaks the circut...
damn google and its useless-ness (besisdes finding me this site all those months ago)

it sounds like a s**t way a $800 unit would work i think its bullsh*t u need the diagram im pretty sure it only needs gound

think of a handbrake like this ok when the handbrake is down the circuit is cut once the handbrake goes up the hand brake hits a switch completing ground there for u would connect the wire to the cut gound circuit side

switching things on and off and back on dun sound like
and its not legal to be able to control the dvd part of the headunit off any switches unless they connected via the handbrake switch

to be 100% best to find a diagram im gunna have a look for u aswell

ok i solved the problem. for future claroin dvd hgead unit users uyou need to know:
When grounding the parking brake wire put in a breaker switch and hide it some where... if you just ground the wire alone it wont work u need to breaka nd re connect the circut. coz i have run my ipod cable under my center console into my lil console binish bit i just put the switch in there.
if you turn the car on with it already grounded u need to un ground it then ground it again but if u satrt it with out the ground (parking brake off) u just need to apply it once.
ill draw up a diagram tomorrow. maybe someone should amke a how to make different brand dvd players work ect sticky thread or doco.
i have read some plays just need a code entered.

Just buy a kenwood and ground it. No BS required.
