Hi guys,
Would like to know how hard it is to install a second battery in my boot to help for my recently upgraded stereo. I have a BA Xr6 turbo with the standard alternator and nizpro's stage 2 kit which means i have their pc925 Oddysey battery which is struggling so i need a second battery to compensate but would also like to know if the alternator is up to the task? To my understanding is it as simple as running the positive to the existing battery or is installing it to the alternator the best bet? Im guessing ground can be hooked up in the boot as thats where the battery will be located. Would i need some sort of isolator or is that not required? The battery I'm thinking to get is a yellow top optima which are specially made for electronics but wouldn't mind getting a red top as they help with starting issues swell as electronics? Has anyone installed a second battery in their BA and if possible can someone lead me exactly whats required or if someones done a "how to" write up that would also be great.... Sorry for all the questions, hope i haven't missed anything however if i have pls feel free to post up your opinions..... cheers... |

Mate if you dont have a capacitor. Id consider that first. and if you have high powered subs or speakers you would be better off. and less work for your alternator. half charged batterys coz u connected the 2 together wont be fun. you will need current regulators and such, other wise if one goes flat they both do. Take a look a capacitors they give a good amount of power and come in a fair few sizes.

As above, try a capacitor if you havnt got one already.
